Being the besties we are, cohosts on our podcast, champions of each other’s lives and works, co-teachers, and when we can manage it, great hang-outers at spots far and wide, you won’t get a big cheerleader for Chris in him or me for me. So, when I get the chance to brag about Chris, I am ever so happy.
For quite a while, Chris has been writing nonfiction articles for FutureOfSex.net. This is a wonderful website of work speculating on technology and, yes, you guessed it, the ‘future of sex.’ If you traipse over to the site, you will see lots of articles penned by our own M. Christian, but this week, Chris placed the first-ever fiction short story on the site. Holding him in the high regard, they do at FOS; the powers-that-be ran with Chris’s story “We/They/Us,” which can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/27uf2be3
The story is intricate, beautiful, and hot…not that we’d expect anything less from my buddy M. Christian. But, really, who else but a writer of this caliber could trot out the phrase “fur enshrouded cockatrices?” I can see why FOS ran the story, and I would assume they’ll come to run more fiction from Chris.
As any writer of naughty fiction or hell, any writer of any story genre will report, it is damn hard to get short fiction published these days. It’s especially difficult when you write the odd niche and all-around cross-genre sexy stuff Chris and I occasionally pen. And it’s even harder to break into a market that usually only publishes nonfiction. So, as I champion my man Chris here, let me also take a moment to tip my hat to Future Of Sex for branching out in this way. Indeed, they trust a writer of Chris’s abilities and someone they have known as long as they have known my buddy, but when you are forever trying to drive traffic to your site, every move you make to the copy there means something.
A hearty round of applause to FOS for publishing this first piece of fiction in a series they are calling Sex Science Fiction, and also, as I started this piece off with…. congratulations to M. Christian for a stunning short story.
