The Disney Porn Boo-Boo Ain’t No Big Thang

Look, nobody said this movie-making thing was easy. Even on the level of a major studio creation, mistakes can happen, money can be wasted, movies might not return a profit, stars quit and complain, and special effects sometimes can’t save what turns out to be a bad film. In the case of Disney’s new live-action Little Mermaid what has been recently revealed isn’t so much a mistake or even a failure of any kind; it’s just a case of what the company didn’t know.

A call went out when casting The Little Mermaid that Disney was looking to hire “really sexy male models” for the “mermen” who appear in the movie. These underwater hunks had to be hunky to Disney’s standards, and one of the guys hired was 24-year-old Stefano Tomadini. Tomandini also goes under the name Dante Ferrari and is also an adult film actor.

Disney’s new film, which is building to gross a cool billion globally, has been criticized by fans arguing about who is playing the main characters even whether another live-action remake is worthwhile. But the Tomadini/Ferrari hiring is one of those news items that, while interesting and maybe slightly embarrassing to Disney, really shouldn’t rate so high on anybody’s radar.

Actors look for work all the time, in various ways and for various projects. The fact that Tomadini/Ferrari can work in adult films as well as far across the spectrum for Disney should be applauded. He is not using the specific ‘talents’ and ‘skills’ he takes out to swing around on a porn shoot in The Little Mermaid, so who cares what he does with whatever part of himself from one movie to the next if he keeps his adult work out of any work he does for kids?

Which he surely does in The Little Mermaid, appearing as a sexy mermen, as Disney cast him to do.
