So, our friends over at “The Museum of Wild and Newfangled Art” (that’s mowna to you), have a new show opening. Their “NFT Show,” starts February 1st, 2022 at 6 PM ET, runs through April 30th, 2022, with what’s called a “drop party” (don’t ask me, I never heard the term, but you know me, I am way way out of the loop of what’s happening with the kids today and their new- fangled interweb thingie) happening over at Discord and running through April 30th, 2022. The new show features artworks from some of the 174 artists representing 32 countries that were exhibited in mowna‘s first year. The work will be exhibited in mowna‘s digital museum with the museum minting 1/1 edition NFTs of the work on OpenSea (https://opensea.io/mownamuseum)…how cool is that?! This is where weekly auctions will take place throughout the duration of the show. This new show features some amazing talent, working their wares in a wide variety of disciplines, all in a digital space…which is a super cool way to access all this art, especially in this time of…excuse me for saying, FUCKING STUPID COVID! From the stuff I have seen (see one placed here) there is some very ‘arresting’ artwork here, stuff that we would (and do, and will!) especially champion here at LNV (wink wink). I love the variety mowna always exhibits, they do cull from quite a talented group of folks, from all over and don’t shy away from stuff that would be too risky for other spaces. You owe it to yourself to check out all this wonderful work, maybe make a purchase or two. You would be as much supporting from ridiculously talented folks as the entire idea of accessing an art museum through a digital space, which, when I first learned of mowna I have to admit I wasn’t sure I was so thrilled about (again, I am crusty old fuddy-duddy, obsolete in this world, pretty much) and figured digital, as I have so often seen it do, was destroying another section of our culture But my friends (and I like to think they are friend by now) are so deeply sincere in what they do and how they present it, how could I not but love them for their efforts? Go see, enjoy, buy if you like it enough…and tell them we sent you.
